One day, a group of thieves sneaked into the royal garden with the intention of stealing the mangoes. They were determined to get their hands on the prized fruit, no matter what.
Meanwhile, Tenali Raman, the clever court jester, happened to pass by the garden. Seeing the thieves, he decided to teach them a lesson.
Tenali approached the thieves and asked them what they were doing. The thieves, caught off guard, quickly made up a story about being innocent travelers who got lost in the garden.
But Tenali saw through their lies. He told the thieves that he knew they were there to steal the mangoes and warned them to leave immediately.
The thieves, realizing they had been caught, tried to intimidate Tenali. But he remained calm and composed, refusing to back down.
Then, Tenali came up with a plan. He challenged the thieves to a contest – whoever could climb the mango tree and pluck a mango without getting caught would be allowed to keep it.
The thieves, eager to prove themselves, agreed to the challenge. One by one, they tried to climb the tree, but each time they failed miserably. Some slipped and fell, while others got tangled in the branches.
Meanwhile, Tenali stood by, laughing at their attempts. Finally, when all the thieves had given up, Tenali climbed the tree effortlessly and plucked a mango.
The king, who had been watching from a distance, was impressed by Tenali’s wit and skill. He rewarded Tenali with the mango and praised him for protecting the royal garden.
From that day on, the mango tree was safe from thieves, thanks to Tenali Raman’s cleverness and bravery. And the king continued to enjoy the delicious mangoes, knowing they were well-guarded.
